Texas Snax Take on Buc-ee's Milk Chocolate Beaver Nuggets

Somebody looked at a bag of Beaver Nuggets and thought, what if this were dessert on purpose? Here we are. The caramel-glazed corn puff you already know gets a chocolate jacket, and it eats like caramel corn that wandered into a candy shop.

Shoppers find it as chocolate Beaver Nuggets, chocolate covered Beaver Nuggets, or Buc-ee's chocolate nuggets. If you like a darker, less sugary bite, Buc-ee's Dark Chocolate Beaver Nuggets are the same idea with a little more bitterness.

The honest part: chocolate and Texas heat are not friends. In summer, keep the pouch out of a parked car and off the dashboard, or you'll end up with one giant Beaver Nugget. It's also a treat-size bag, not a movie-night bag, so if more than one person knows you have it, plan accordingly. Our favorite trick is ten minutes in the fridge before opening. The chocolate gets a nice snap, and you get a few minutes to decide whether you're sharing.
