Buc-ee's Mardi Gras Shirts

Buc-ee's Mardi Gras Shirts

As we've mentioned many times before, Buc-ee is a festive fella.  His company celebrates holidays with seasonal Buc-ee's clothing throughout the year -- including New Year's, Valentine's, St. Patrick's Day, the summer patriotic holidays like Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Another holiday the company observes is Mardi Gras, which is a pretty popular reason to celebrate in Texas and the greater South.  That's where the 2023 Buc-ee's Mardi Gras shirt comes in.

Mardi Gras is a Christian (predominately Catholic) holiday that occurs during the early to mid 2020s occurs on a Tuesday between mid-February to early-March.  "Mardi Gras" is French for "Fat Tuesday," and it occurs the day before Ash Wednesday when Catholics start a period of Lenten sacrifices, which typically means they forego a vice or other indulgence for 40 days.  Many people who aren't Catholic sometimes participate as well by giving something up as a way of self-improvement.  Either way, Mardi Gras is marked by parties, parades, and delicious food that people binge before they start their Lent observance.

New Orleans in Louisiana is what many people consider Mardi Gras HQ in the United States.  That's where the biggest carnival celebrations typically are, but other American cities have their events, too.  Globally, Brazil, France, and Germany are also known for extravagant festivities.

As Louisiana is next door to Texas, the Lone Star State is home to many Texans who also observe Mardi Gras.  It isn't uncommon to see king cakes all over the place and for kids to take them to school to share with their classmates and social studies teachers (who are more than eager to find fun ways to teach their students about the world and society).  Of course, it isn't hard to find Mardi Gras orange, green, and purple bead necklaces throughout the United States as well -- as Americans are always looking for an excuse to party.

Buc-ee's certainly is more than happy to help everyone celebrate.  That's why it typically produces an annual Mardi Gras shirt.  In 2022, the shirt's saying was: "La Di Da Di, We like to Mardi."  In 2023, the saying is: "Peace, Love, & Mardi Gras."  Be sure to get your Buc-ee's Mardi Gras shirt today so that y'all will be ready to party (this year on February 21, 2023 and then again on February 13, 2024).

So, "Let the good times roll" -- or as the French like to say, "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"  Now, be sure to take some pictures and share them with us here at Texas Snax via Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.
