Buc-ee's Dark Chocolate Pecans

The pecan is the Texas state tree, and Texans have strong opinions about what to do with them. Covering them in dark chocolate is one of the better ideas.

People search for these as Buc-ee's chocolate pecans, Buc-ee's dark chocolate covered pecans or Buc-ee's Small Batch pecans.

Why we like them: pecans are softer and more buttery than almonds, in our opinion, so the bite feels richer. A one-pound bag is a real gift, the kind you set out on the holiday table or hand to a neighbor in December.

Honest notes: a pound of chocolate pecans is a lot, and it's easy to lose track of how many you've had. Heat will melt the chocolate, so store them somewhere cool. If someone in the family thinks dark chocolate is too bitter, the Milk Chocolate Pecans come in the same Small Batch bag. Either way, if you're bringing these to Thanksgiving, bring two.
