Buc-ee's Ice Cream Maker

Homemade ice cream on the back porch is a summer tradition, and the old wooden-bucket kind makes it feel like an event. This one lets you choose: crank by hand for the nostalgia, or plug in the motor when your arm gives out.

People search for it as the Buc-ee's ice cream maker, Buc-ee's ice cream bucket, or Buc-ee's hand crank ice cream maker.

Honest notes. Bucket-style makers need ice and rock salt, and they take a while. Plan on it being part of the party rather than a quick dessert. Set it up outside or on a towel, because melting ice goes wherever it wants. Wooden buckets like to be dried well after use. It's also a bigger item, so think about where it'll live between batches. For a family that does the Fourth of July right, though, it's a centerpiece that kids will remember long after the bowls are licked clean.
